JOIN Our Brand-New Treaty Discussion Group!

We have spent the past two years confronting a dark chapter of Canada’s not-too-distant past. What have we learned since? For one, First Nations and European settlers had a very different relationship—one governed, protected, and maintained by treaties.

Many of these treaties remain in force, and some are are upheld by our courts. Each one has a different story to tell about Canada’s past, present and future.

The Remembering Project invites you to join our brand-new Treaty Discussion reading group

Sara Wolfe on the Promise Indigenous Ways of Being Holds for all Canadians

Join us on August 19th for reflections on our work in the Remembering Project.  We will provide updates on the new opportunities that Spanish school survivors offer us to help them. We will discuss the upcoming Final Report on Missing Children and Unmarked Graves and our plans to host a conference.

We will also have an enlightening session with Sara Wolfe, founder of the Toronto Birth Centre and longtime medical practitioner who has adapted Anishinaabe knowledge and practices to enhance maternal care for all Canadians.  We are hosting the Circle meeting in the Toronto Birth Centre itself to see how marrying Indigenous traditions and Western practices creates new value for everyone’s health.
