Dr. Sanjay Ruparelia, Ryerson University
Dr. Sanjay Ruparelia ist Inhaber des ersten Jarislowsky-Demokratie-Lehrstuhls an der Ryerson University in Toronto. Er ist der Autor von Divided We Govern (OUP 2015), Herausgeber von The Indian Ideology (Permanent Black 2015) und Mitherausgeber von Understanding India’s New Political Economy (Routledge 2011). Dr. Ruparelia ist Vorsitzender des Clusters für demokratische Rechenschaftspflicht des Participedia-Netzwerks <participedia.net>, Mitherausgeber von Pacific Affairs und der Oxford Encyclopedia of Asian Politics sowie Indien-Länderexperte für V-Dem: the Varieties of Democracy Project. Er ist auch Gastgeber von On the Frontlines of Democracy, einer monatlichen öffentlichen Vortragsreihe, die gemeinsam mit der Toronto Public Library organisiert wird. Zuvor war Dr. Ruparelia Fakultätsmitglied an der Columbia University und der New School for Social Research, Berater für die Asia Foundation (Kabul), UNDP (New York) und UNRISD (Genf) sowie Stipendiat in Notre Dame, Princeton und Yale.
