Dr. Mathias Bonk, WHO

Dr. Mathias Bonk is a Global Health consultant for WHO, WHO/EURO and other international and national stakeholders. He is a specialist in pediatric and adolescent medicine and holds a master’s degree in international health from Heidelbergn University. From 2010 to 2014 he played a key role in setting up the World Health Summit in Berlin and the associated M8 Alliance network. During the Ebola crisis in West Africa, he was part of the WHO Clinical Management Team in Geneva. He is the chairman and co-founder of the Berlin Institute of Global Health, a think tank and knowledge platform and is currently serving as the Program Manager for the Independent Panel on Pandemic Preparedness and Response. His special interests lie in the area of international cooperation and global health governance, with a focus on WHO.
