Dr. John Hancock, WTO

Dr. John Hancock works at the World Trade Organization in Geneva, Switzerland, as the Head of Policy Development. He previously has served as senior policy advisor to the Director-General, representative to the IMF and World Bank, and head of policy development. He spearheaded the launch of the WTO’s Aid-for-Trade Initiative, as well as the recent Joint Initiatives on investment, e-commerce, and sustainable plastics trade. Prior to joining the WTO, Mr. Hancock was senior advisor to Canada’s trade minister. He holds a PhD in economic history from Cambridge University, and has written and spoken frequently on international economic issues.
