Chris Beall, CIGI
Chris Beall is the policy lead, platform governance, with the digital economy research team at CIGI. Chris was most recently the founding director of the Digital Citizen Initiative (DCI) at the Department of Canadian Heritage. The DCI supports democracy and social cohesion in Canada by building citizen resilience against online disinformation and fostering partnerships to support a healthy information ecosystem. Prior to joining Canadian Heritage, Chris held positions within the Government of Canada at Public Safety Canada, the Canada Border Services Agency and the Treasury Board Secretariat, working in counterterrorism policy, strategic finance and management oversight. Chris holds a doctorate from the University of Oxford and is a college fellow at the Arthur Kroeger College of Public Affairs at Carleton University.
